MARYLU MELO

Marylu Melo è nata a Fortaleza, uno stato al nord-est in brasile.

Iniziò la sua vocazione pittorica nel 2002, pur essendo priva di qualsiasi conoscenza artistica, come se un’altra Marylu (quella colma di armonia poetica e cromatica) si fosse risvegliata in lei, lavorando spontaneamente e d’istinto su grandissime tele, utilizzando tinte acriliche e/o materiali vari.

A Curitiba fu scoperta da Ennio Marques Ferreira, importante critico d’arte e direttore del Museo “Casa Andrade Muricy”, espone in varie gallerie d’arte ottenendo subito un importante successo di estimatori della società bene della città.

Risposatasi con un professionista italiano, vive attualmente a Firenze ove ha continuato la sua attività pittorica, con lo stesso entusiasmo, spontaneità ed istinto, esprimendosi sempre con le sue particolari forme, sia su tela che tavole lignee, di media e grande dimensione.

CRITTICA:
Non è frequente che un pittore, ancora incerto su i primi passi dell’evoluzione dell’auto apprendimento, abbia il coraggio di mostrare se stesso agli occhi indagatori di un esperto studioso, il cui sguardo ed anima sono intorpiditi per il continuo contatto con l’arte.
Questo non è il caso di Marylu Melo.
Portando enormi tele e non conoscendo le difficoltà tipiche dei timidi, muovendosi come una veterana, viene ora a sottomettersi ad un occhio critico.
Lei cerca un modo di avanzare tentando di ottenere un posto al sole.
Risvegliandosi tardi nel fare arte, non facendo parte di nessun gruppo artistico e non conoscendo lo scenario artistico regionale o internazionale, Marylu Melo non ha ricevuto nessuna influenza formale o concettuale del poetico mondo delle pitture primitive.
L’esclusivo progetto d’arte al quale si è lanciata contiene, fra tanti altri ingredienti, vigorose pennellate ed un tocco espressionista, con una chiara connotazione astratta, come se per arrivare a questo punto, abbia saltato le fasi di un’illusoria formazione accademica.
Noi sentiremo parlare molto di questa crescente e coraggiosa artista.

Marylu Melo was born in Fortaleza, a city located in the north-east of Brazil.

Working spontaneously and instinctively on large panels and using acrylic paints, she started her vocation as a painter in 2002, although without having any knowledge of art; as if another Marylu (that one, full of poetic and chromatic harmony) was awaken within herself.

In the city of Curitiba, Marylu was discovered by Ennio Marques Ferreira, an important art critic and director of the "Casa Andrade Muricy" museum. From that moment she started showing her art in several galleries and soon got the recognition of the local society.

Remarried with an Italian professional, she now lives in Florence and continues her art activities with the same enthusiasm, spontaneity and instinct as always, and expressing herself in her particular way using medium and large regular panels or wooden panels.

Critic : Not easily a painter, still uncertain about the first steps of a self learned evolution, has the courage of showing oneself to the inquiring eye of an experienced art scholar, whose eye and soul are numb by the constant contact with art. This is not the case with Marylu Melo. Carrying large canvases, and not acknowledging the limitations that cause great difficulty to those who are shy, this well borned, moving as a veteran in the area, comes now submiting herself to the critical eye. She seeks a way to come forth looking for a place in the sun. Having awaken a tad late to the art-making, not being part of any type of art group and not knowing neither the regional nor the international art scene, she has not received any formal or conceptual influence to the poetical world of primitive painting. The unique art project to which she has delivered herself, amongst other ingredients contains vigorous expressions and a expressionist touch in a clear abstract conotation as if, in order to get to this stage, she has skipped the steps of an illusionary academic formation.
